Various Birthday Cake Order from a Friend

This was my 2nd time making 2-tier cake.  This was ordered by a friend of mine for her daughter.  Her daughter loved Disney Princesses.  So I suggested a castle cake.  At that time, I was still new with this kind of cake so the design was very very simple & I wasn't satisfied at all with the final product.  I should add more details on the cake.  Well, hopefully will get another chance to make castle cake in the future.  Looking forward for it.  Hihihi..

This is the 2nd cake for her son.  He liked soccer so she requested soccer cake.  His fave teams are Real Madrid & Manchester United.  Actually there were logo of these 2 teams but I let my friend to put them by herself.

And this is the last cake for her husband.  Her husband loved fishing, so she asked me to make fishing themed cake.

Egg Tart

I think everyone of you who once went to Bali must know this kind of food.  It's called "Pie Susu".  Also my brother, every time he went to Bali, he always bought this Pie Susu.  I tried to find the recipe in the internet.  Actually it wasn't my first time making this, but the first time I made a large one, usually called Kue Lontar.  This 2nd time I made the individual size.

Rainbow Cake for me :D

I made this rainbow cake as a potluck and also for celebrating my birthday.  I made the cake 1 day before the event and assemble it on the D-day.  I used cream cheese whipped cream as the filling and covered the top with whipped cream.  Everybody said delicious and not too sweet.

My Melody Figurines

I made this My Melody figurines for my parents' friend.  He was asked to send birthday cake with My Melody theme for a high school girl.  At first, he wanted to order the cake as well but since I was out of town, so he ordered the cake from a well known bakery.  But I don't know why they couldn't make the figurines, so he still asked me to make ones.

 

There was some difficulties to make these figurines.  That day I planned to go back to Jakarta early in the morning, but there was a very heavy traffic jam from Bandung to Jakarta.  So I told my parents' friend about the traffic jam and he told me no need to rush.  If I could make it, he would be very happy, but if I couldn't, also not a big deal.  Luckily, I arrived in Jakarta very last minute to fulfill this order.

 

When the figurines done, my parents' friend looked so happy and that made me happy too.  He said the birthday girl also very happy.  Well, it's always feel good to make other people happy, even though the figurines wasn't as good as the real ones.  I was trying my best at least.  Hehehe..

 

 

Birthday Cake for Cherry

It was an order from a friend of mine for his daughter.  He wanted simple design picturing his daughter reading Bible.  So I made this, showing her parents was accompanying her reading Bible.

 

Still using the same base cake, steamed brownies and fully covered with fondant.

Steamed Cheese Cake for SS

This was also a short noticed order.  It was ordered by my senior back in University for her son's birthday.  She wanted to give the cake to her family, so she ordered 11 cakes.  The size of the cake was 20cm by 20cm.  It was my first experience taking order with that much quantity.  Thank God, she asked for a simple decoration.

 

The base cake was steamed cheese cake, covered with butter cream & shredded cheddar cheese.  With cherry on top & the date of the birthday.  Although I was quite exhausted but I was happy I could make it.

 

When I delivered these cakes to her office, there was an accident.  When the car door opened, one of the cake fell, fortunately I sealed the box. Thank God, she said it was okay since 1 cake was for herself.  Fiuhhh..  

Christmas Cookies for OS

This was ordered by my auntie for her daughter's class party back in December 2012.  The class party was like a potluck party.  So every student must brought food/drink to be shared with the whole class.  Since the party on December, my auntie asked me to make Christmas cookies.  

It was vanilla butter cookies decorated with royal icing.  The cookies was cut in Christmas shapes, like: Christmas tree, sock, Christmas bell, snowman & gingerbread.  

After the class party, my auntie told me that her daughter's friend were fascinated with the cookies' shape & color.  When their teacher told them to wait for her & not to eat the cookies first, they ignored it.  So when she came back, the cookies was almost gone.  Hahaha.

Barbie Cake for Hunny

Another old order.  This was an order from a friend for her best friend, whom I also knew.  The request is Barbie cake.  I love making Barbie cake :).  Since the birthday girl is a purple lover, so I chose purple as the color of the dress.  The base cake was still using steamed brownies.

I was told that the birthday girl liked the cake & didn't want to eat it.  Hahaha..

Anniversary Cupcakes for KML

I was reorganizing my pictures folder and I found some pictures I haven't upload here.  And this is one of those.  These cupcakes were ordered by my college friend & his wife.  Actually, it was a short noticed order.  By accident, they came to my neighborhood & asked me to meet them.  When we were talking they asked if I can make anniversary cupcakes for them.  At first I said no because the time was too short for the preparation.  But they said just make the simple ones.  So I agreed.

The base cake was still using steamed brownies and covered with fondant.  I just used hearts & anniversary word as the decoration with pastel colors.  

For the delivery, my friend picked up at my husband's office since it was close with his.

Ferrari Fondant Cake

This is 2nd order post baby delivery.  But this is my 1st 3D cake experience.  Hmm actually also 2nd.. First one is Canon 60D 3D cake for my beloved husband :) 

At first, I'm a bit confused whether take the order or not since it's very challenging for me to do 3D cake, especially the details.  But I thought myself why not.  Before making it, I browsed a lot in the Internet searching on how to make one.

I chose Ferrari 458 Italia for this 3D cake.  I used steamed brownies as the base cake.  After carving the cake, I covered with fondant.  For me the hardest part is duplicating the details of the car.  It wasn't as easy as I thought.  This is the best I can do and I'm still not satisfied about it.  Hope next time can do better and hope the customer happy enough with this.

PS: my husband said it was good enough.. Hahaha.. What a good husband..

Steamed Cheese Cake

This is my first order post baby delivery.  Actually, I didn't plan to take order yet.  But one of my church fellow told my mom that she wanted to order this specific cake for her mom birthday.  

So I thought why not since it was a simple cake with a simple decor.  It was steamed cheese cake covered with buttercream and shredded cheddar cheese.  Decorated with red cherry.  

When I delivered the cake, she was very happy with the cake and told me that her mom would be very happy.  Hopefully she is.. *fingercross* :D

Bite-sized Pandan Cake

I made this for remembering 40 day of my grandma ceremony.  My mom expected 100 guests so I made 100 pieces, that is 4 22x22cm pans.  I cut each pan into 25 pieces.  Since I was afraid that the topping will be dry on the D day so I spreaded the topping in the morning.  For the topping I used buttercream, shredded cheese & red cherry.  I was so happy that everybody liked it :)

AC Milan birthday cake

This cake is ordered by friend of friend of mine.  She wanted to give birthday cake for her loved one.  Her loved one is a fan of AC Milan soccer club, as you can see.. :) At first, she had difficulty deciding between fondant or buttercream.  But I suggested fondant.  She agreed.  The based cake is as usual chocolate cake.  Hope the birthday guy loved it. :)

Duck Cookies

A cute duck butter cookies.. Can be used in goodie bags, baby shower, souvenirs, etc.. Very yummy & not too sweet.. ;)

Cireng Keju

I made this as an entry for Cheese Week event held by NCC.. I really love this snack, especially with lots of cheese filling.. Soooo yummy.. ;)

Ben 10 Cake

Well, for me, it's quite a challenge making this cake.. It took me sometimes to make up my mind what I want to make.. I didn't want to do puzzled fondant since I did that last year.. So I challenged myself to make a Ben 10 figurine.. I did it! But I'm still not satisfied.. :) should've done it better.. Still using chocolate cake as the based cake..

Ballet Barbie Cake

The birthday girl likes Barbie so much.. For last year birthday also ordered birthday cake with Barbie themed.. So I had to think for not making the same cake.. After searching in the internet, I found this ballet Barbie.. I thought it was a good idea.. Hihihi.. The based cake also chocolate cake.. Hope she likes it.. ;)

Hello Kitty Cake

OMG! It's been more than a year since I posted something here.. I'm just too lazy to write anything at all.. Hihihi..

Well this is what I made recently.. Hello Kitty birthday cake.. The birthday girl loves cat so much.. So the mother asked me to make birthday cake with Hello Kitty the theme.. She also wanted a colorful cake.. So here's what I could do.. I was using chocolate cake as the based cake.. Since I knew most of kids love chocolate.. Well who doesn't, rite? :D
